Kohler® Design Studio is the company’s first shared workspace in NYC, built for collaborators and employees to convene and discuss ideas. Our aim was to ensure the physical environment reflected this. Artistically displayed drawings, renderings, and other graphic references to product development transform the wallspace.
Three parts of the space spotlight the beauty of Kohler’s product portfolio across kitchen and bath.
The Lobby - when a guest exits the elevator they are greeted by a mural of products on black and white canvas vinyl. The graphic extends to the glass wall creating an entry moment. The Kohler Design Studio logo stays true to the company logo and creates a hierarchy for studios to come.
The Library - in the working area where designers and fabricators will gather, the graphic anchors the space with a technical drawing of various Kohler kitchen products.
We named the space’s meeting rooms to reflect the product development process - Assembly, Casting, Molding, and Foundry.
Curved Wall - this space is a more informal area for conversation and resetting. The pattern is created with faucet handles, basins, and escutcheons in grey and blue to complement the material palette of the office.
Distraction Graphics - to continue the product story, each room is bordered with a unique product feature from tubs to showers and more.
